We were engaged to carry out this garage conversion project. The old garage building was a single storey, partially double walled structure. Under the garage door, there was not even a  foundation. We poured a new foundation with a high strength concrete and connected it thoroughly to the existing ones. We turned single brick walls into double brick cavity walls with a proper connection between brick layers. Garage was on the side of this semi-detached property and it was converted to a double storey side extension. At the end of this project, the client gained 2 extra bedrooms and a bathroom and they remarkably enlarged their existing kitchen which was an extra bonus for the Mrs. The work also included a new outbuilding in the garden and a porch at the front side of the property.

Main works of the project are as follows:
Foundations; under garage door, outbuilding walls and porch walls and sub-flooring
Timber stud walls to separate the rooms
Exterior cavity walls and installation of plasterboards for house, porch and outbuilding
Installation of universal steel beams
Double storey side extension’s pitched roof with dormers at both sides (to match existing), pitched roof of porch and flat roof of outbuilding. 
Plastering (skim coat) and painting
Flooring (tiling for bathrooms, hard flooring for the remaining)
Installation of internal door & skirting boards & architraves
Installation of bespoke design wardrobes to the 4 bedrooms
Fitting of the kitchen units & cabinets and appliances
Fixing of a big sized pergola to the rear elevation of the house
Electrical works (wiring of the whole house and outbuilding)
Plumbing works (includes installation of a new boiler and plumbing of outbuilding) 

Construction continues and we are on schedule. We still have 9 weeks as agreed in the contract. We also carried out architectural drawings, planning permission application and structural calculations for building regulations. We received a high level of praise from the client for the quality of work.
